This couple, my Great Grandfather and Grandmother, emigrated from Germany in the late 19th century. They came to Canada, specifically Nanaimo BC., to work for relatives, the famous Reifel family of Brewers, at the UNION BREWING COMPANY. Prohibition forced them East to where the settled in Edmonton. The Cooper (on the right) continued to work for some of Edmonton's best loved historic breweries until his passing.
